Amanda Seewald, M.Ed.
Amanda Seewald, M.Ed., instructional coach and expert in multilingual curriculum and instruction, is the Author and Director of MARACAS Language Programs / Learning Kaleidoscope Educational Consulting.
During her 20 years in education, Amanda has taught all age groups, developed and published curriculum materials and music, and worked as a teacher coach and consultant to provide professional development to educators across the United States. She is a regular presenter at national, regional, and state conferences.
Amanda is the former President of the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey and serves on the executive board of the Joint National Committee for Language. Amanda spends much time advocating for language programs and policy with legislators. She speaks Spanish, French, and Japanese. It is Amanda’s hope that through engaging and dynamic programming, more language programs for young children will grow.
María Martínez
María Martínez
María Martínez, Master in Bilingual Education, is the Project Manager of MARACAS Language Programs / Learning Kaleidoscope Educational Consulting in Spain.
She worked as a teacher in Delaware (USA) for three years. María was part of the Building Leadership Team and was selected by the Department of Education as member of the ‘Delaware Dream Team of Educators’ for curriculum planning and materials design. She also presented at the International Conference about Language Immersion programs in Utah.
María currently teaches at a bilingual school in Navarre. It is her hope that all teachers can get effective training to improve language teaching and learning methods and techniques.
Nathan Lutz
Nathan Lutz
Nathan Lutz is the Global Learning Coordinator and Primary School French Teacher at Kent Place School, a leader in girls’ education, located in Summit, New Jersey.Nathan has also taught elementary school Spanish, as well as French at the middle school, high school, and university levels.
As an advocate for world language instruction for all children, he serves the profession in various leadership roles: vice president of programs of the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey’s (FLENJ); immediate past president of the National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL); and the vice chair of the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NECTFL).
Nathan is a frequent conference presenter, program consultant, and writer for various language programs.
Mouna Mana, Ph.D.
Mouna Mana, Ph.D.
Dr. Mouna Mana is a language pedagogy expert with a focus on language assessment, online language learning, online teacher professional development, and Arabic language education. Dr Mana recently served as the Director of Arabic language and culture programs at Qatar Foundation International based in Washington DC where she supervised a range of grant-making programs including the development of K-12 Arabic programs. She has taught Arabic at the university level and with high school heritage learners of Arabic.
Through her experience working for the National Foreign Language Center, Dr Mana has extensive experience in evaluation of Arabic curricula, K-12 and university programs, as well as language teacher training programs. She has examined and supported the development of Arabic programs in the U.S. and in the Middle East, as well as conducted research on language teachers’ professional learning and development.
She has mentored and trained teachers from a variety of professional backgrounds and has offered numerous professional development workshops across the U.S. Dr Mana has consulted for ACTFL where she met and collaborated with Amanda Seewald M.Ed. Mouna has published articles and book chapters on Arabic language teachers’ professionalization and is a member of ACTFL. Dr. Mana holds a Ph.D in Education from UCLA with a focus on language and literacy and is proficient in Arabic, English, French, and conversational Spanish.
