Learning PhilosophyAmanda Seewald, M.Ed., is the Author and Director of the MARACAS Spanish Program for Young Learners. She teaches in several private New Jersey schools and works as a consultant to provide professional development and training to educators. Amanda has worked with many educators across the country providing interactive professional development workshops as well as presenting at national, regional, and state conferences. Additionally, Amanda has developed programs to engage parents in advocacy and in their children’s educational experiences.

Prior to developing MARACAS, Amanda taught in the Arlington Public Schools Spanish Immersion program in Virginia and completed a graduate degree in Multilingual/ Multicultural Curriculum and Instruction at George Mason University. She speaks Spanish, French, and Japanese. In 2007, Amanda was chosen as a Sans Inc./MEAD Leadership Fellow by the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Amanda was elected to the Board of Directors for NECTFL in 2009 and serves on the Executive Board for the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey and as the New Jersey State Representative for the National Network for Early Language Learning. It is Amanda’s hope that through engaging and dynamic programming, more language programs for young children will grow.
